Bank of Baroda, one of India's leading public sector banks, has partnered with BNP Paribas Asset Management, the asset management arm of BNP Paribas, a leading financial services group in Europe with global reach, to form Baroda BNP Paribas Mutual Fund.
Baroda BNP Paribas Asset Management is the mutual fund management arm of one of the leading financial institutions in the world, BNP Paribas. It has a firm hold on the investment market in the Asia-Pacific region, including the Indian subcontinent, where it operates by the name of BNP Paribas Mutual Fund.
The mother company, Baroda BNP Paribas, is over a century and a half old and is one of the earliest financial institutions of Europe. Baroda BNP Paribas Asset Management is relatively new to the mutual fund market, having been formed in 1980. Its Indian wing commenced operations in 2002.
In this relatively short span of time, BNP Paribas Asset Management has made a profound impact on the investment market. Currently, they advise and manage assets approximately worth Rs. 42 trillion. They have a truly global presence in over 30 countries, dominating the American, Europe and Asia-Pacific. They have 3,000 strong teams, out of which 900 are located in the Indian wing alone.
Baroda BNP Paribas Asset Management is one of the first organisations to integrate ESG analysis, and they manage assets worth over Rs. 17 trillion, which comply with the report. They have a wide range of investment solutions cutting across a broad spectrum of asset types and locations.
Baroda BNP Paribas Mutual Fund, their Indian investment wing, was set up in 2004 under the sponsorship of BNP Paribas Asset Management Asia Limited. As of May 2022, they manage assets worth Rs. 7837.4 Crore spread across 72 schemes.
